Ballyhack House

tarting on site in January 2024, watch this space for the progress on this victorian home rennovation and extension in Belfasts Ballyhackamore.

The objective was to establish a seamless connection between the indoor kitchen and the outdoor garden while minimizing the use of glass. Since the kitchen faces south, it receives abundant sunlight throughout the day. To manage the intensity of light and prevent overheating, trellises adorned with plants will be strategically placed around the kitchen windows. These trellises will filter the sunlight, creating a dappled effect that enhances the natural ambiance without causing glare or discomfort. The lush greenery will also add a touch of vibrancy and soften the transition between the indoor and outdoor spaces, blurring the boundaries between the two environments. This approach fosters a sense of harmony and connection with nature, allowing the kitchen to become an extension of the garden.
